Sogemedia, a press group dedicated to local information, wishes to strengthen its digital presence and reach a wider audience, thanks to content that is better adapted to current consumption patterns.
To meet this challenge, Sogemedia has called on Upgrade Media, an agency specialising in digital transformation, to integrate digital-first thinking, develop organisations and skills and design an attractive Premium offering. The objective will be to develop audiences in order to engage new generations of readers but also to convince them to subscribe.
This support aims to redefine the editorial promises, to develop a more impactful local journalism and to better promote them thanks to the redesign of the websites of the group’s various titles.
Finally, the support will include the implementation of a monetisation strategy through the development of the audience and digital subscriptions.
Historically based in Hauts-de-France, Sogemedia now publishes 23 local political and general information weeklies in six regions. It has its own digital press, with its subsidiary Digitaprint, for printing newspapers with variable editorial and commercial data.
Sogemedia was founded by Jean-Pierre de Kerraoul, currently president of ENPA (European Newspaper Publishers Association), from his regional weekly “L’Observateur de l’Avesnois”, one of the oldest titles in the French press (founded in 1834).
